Fishers, Indiana
Fishers, Indiana is part of the fastest growing Indiana county. Located in the south eastern section of Hamilton County, Fishers neighbors Geist, Lawrence, Noblesville, Carmel and Indianapolis. With access to I-69 and I-465, commuting to and from anywhere in the Indianapolis area is reasonably easy.
Fishers' roots trace back to 1872 when a post office was established under the town name of "Fisher's Switch". It was founded around a train station, which is now home to the Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau. In 1908 the name was changed to it's current name of Fishers.
Hamilton County, home of Fishers, Noblesville, Zionsville and Carmel, among other towns, has added more than 63,000 people since the 1990 census, for a growth rate of 58% between 1990 and 1999. It is considered one of the fastest growing counties in the country. Employment in Hamilton County is primarily made up of the finance, insurance, real estate sectors.
